More than 100 women gathered in Pakur to celebrate International Women’s Day during a colorful community event organized by Active Citizens South Sudan with support from Norwegian People’s Aid.
The celebration focused on raising awareness about the challenges women face in their communities and encouraging leaders and organizations to strengthen support for women’s rights.
Speaking during the event, Women’s Association chairperson Mary Nyakui praised the organizers for recognizing the contributions of women and creating a platform for them to share their concerns.
She said many women continue to face difficulties that often go unnoticed and stressed the importance of speaking out and participating in decision-making processes.
