President Kiir Travels to South Africa for Talks With Ramaphosa

Salva Kiir Mayardit, the president of South Sudan, departed Juba on Saturday morning for an official visit to South Africa where he is expected to hold talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

According to presidential press secretary Arek Aldo Deng, the discussions will focus on strengthening historical ties between the two nations and expanding cooperation in areas such as economic development, institutional growth, and capacity building.

Officials say the visit builds on earlier engagements between the two leaders, including a meeting in Addis Ababa last month.
