Authorities in Tonj East County say at least 13 people have been killed and several others injured in separate violent incidents over the weekend.
Officials reported that suspected armed youth believed to have come from Mayom County attacked cattle camps in the remote Luachjang area. The clashes left at least 11 people dead, including boys and girls.
According to Tonj East County Commissioner Machuei Bith Bol, security forces have not yet reached the area due to difficult terrain and limited logistics.
He added that local health facilities in Romic are receiving some of the wounded as fighting continues in parts of the county.
